During the art week in Singapore, the new second-generation Porsche Macan was presented. The crossover has changed drastically and has become an electric car. The familiar style of the Porsche Macan crossover has been retained, but it now looks more streamlined. Its design features a more sloping coupe-like roof and a high window line. The front end with a prominent ‘nose’ and elongated headlights is inspired by the Porsche Taycan electric car. The headlights are connected by a diode strip with a retractable spoiler above them. The electric Porsche Macan is more aerodynamic (drag coefficient – 0.25) and is the first model on the new PPE platform, which will also be used by the Audi Q6 E-Tron electric crossover. The crossover has grown slightly in size. The interior of the Porsche Macan has become more modern. Now, there are three displays on the front panel, one of which is intended for the front passenger. There is also augmented reality projection on the windshield. The multimedia system for the electric car is built on the Android platform and includes navigation with Google Maps. The luggage compartment volume has increased to 540-1348 liters, and an additional 84-liter compartment has been added in the front. The new Porsche Macan 2024 debuted in two all-wheel-drive versions with two electric motors. The Porsche Macan 4 with 408 hp and 650 N∙m can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 220 km/h. The top-of-the-line Turbo variant with 639 hp and 1100 N∙m can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and reach 260 km/h. The electric crossover received an electronic rear differential with torque vectoring function, adaptive dampers, and an air suspension with variable clearance, as well as rear-steering wheels. The 100 kWh battery provides a range of up to 591 km in the Turbo and 613 km in the Macan 4. The 800-volt architecture allows fast charging with a power of 270 kW: in this mode, it is possible to charge up to 80% in 21 minutes. The electric Porsche Macan is significantly more expensive than its petrol-powered predecessor. The base version will cost 84,100 euros, and the Turbo version – 114,600 euros.
