The Cabinet of Ministers has changed the rules for driver training and license issuance during martial law. The procedure has become slightly simpler.

Now, obtaining a driver’s license in Ukraine (as well as exchanging or restoring it) is possible without a medical certificate. In addition, a number of innovations have been introduced to optimize the educational process in driving schools:
- Driving exams are conducted on public roads instead of grounds (to avoid large gatherings of people and equipment)
- The training period for truck drivers (categories C and C1) has been reduced by increasing the duration of daily training from 2 to 5 hours
- The theoretical exam is canceled when retraining from category B to C1, C provided the driving experience is more than 3 years
The work programs and plans for training, retraining, and advanced training of drivers during martial law do not need to be coordinated with the Ministry of Internal Affairs service centers.
