by In Nikolaev, a ZAZ-968 from 1976 has been put up for sale. A considerable amount of money is being asked for the 45-year-old Zaporozhets—an impressive $10,000.
The thing is, it is a genuine time capsule, as the ZAZ-968 has only 460 km on it. The car was stored on blocks in a dry garage all this time and stayed in factory preservation until 2020.
Naturally, the Zaporozhets is completely original, even the tires are the native ones. Only the battery was replaced, although the original will be sold as part of the package (though it is non-working). The car’s documentation has also been preserved.
As is known, the “eared” ZAZ-968 was produced from 1971 to 1978. The car was equipped with a 1.1-liter engine producing 41 hp and a 4-speed manual transmission.
