by In Germany, an unusual Gelandewagen is for sale. The army version of the SUV has been turned into a compact motorhome for two.
More precisely, a Steyr Puch G 230 GE from 1993 – the Austrian twin brother of the Mercedes G-Class – is for sale. Initially, the van was in the Swiss army, and then the restoration and tuning of the Gelandewagen was carried out at the Lorinser atelier.
The cargo area of the Gelandewagen was converted into a living module with a double bed, kitchen, and folding table. A sink, various cabinets, and a microwave are provided. The electrical equipment is powered by solar panels on the roof.
The SUV received LED optics, 16-inch BF Goodrich off-road tires, and modern front seats.
However, the 2.3-liter 114-horsepower diesel and 4-speed automatic transmission remain unchanged.
The Gelandewagen can be purchased for 69,900 euros. The claimed mileage of the motorhome is 88,000 km.
