HKS introduces a new aerodynamic kit for the Toyota GR Yaris
The Japanese company HKS has unveiled an updated aerodynamic kit for the sports version of the Toyota GR Yaris. This package, known as the Type-S Gen2, includes a carbon spoiler, splitter, and other elements that enhance not only the car’s appearance but also its performance on the track. The GR Yaris with these modifications is already participating in the Japanese Super Endurance series.
HKS specialists focused on improving aerodynamics by developing a new front splitter made of fiberglass with carbon overlays, which increases downforce. Side skirts and a carbon rear wing with special mounts also contribute to better handling at high speeds.
HKS claims that these modifications provide a noticeable effect on the track, though exact downforce figures are not provided.
Currently, the kit is only available in Japan: the splitter costs around 165,000 yen, while the side skirts and wing are priced at 132,000 yen each. International deliveries are not yet planned, which may disappoint GR Yaris fans outside the country.
The GR Yaris remains one of the most exciting hot hatches, and aftermarket tuning solutions like this HKS kit only amplify its sporty potential. Given the modified car’s participation in competitions, it is possible that some of these technologies may eventually find their way into production versions or other tuning projects.
