Renault considers creating a competitor to Ferrari (photo)

The French brand Alpine, which is part of the Renault Group, has confirmed the development of a new flagship supercar with a hybrid powertrain. The future model is set to become a direct competitor to renowned cars like the Ferrari SF90 Stradale. The release of the new model is expected in 2028.

This will be the most powerful road car in the history of the Alpine brand. At its core is a V6 gasoline engine, which will work in tandem with several electric motors, forming a full-fledged hybrid system with all-wheel drive. Although technical specifications have not yet been disclosed, preliminary data suggests over 800 horsepower.

The main focus is on handling, driving dynamics, and lightweight construction. The company emphasizes that the car is being created under the philosophy of “driving sensation above all.” Engineers from the Alpine F1 Team are involved in the development, so the new model will incorporate many technologies from motorsports.

Interestingly, despite the active expansion of the electric lineup, this flagship will feature a traditional internal combustion engine. It will be complemented by electric motors, creating a combination of classic sound and modern performance. The Renault Group believes that this formula will allow Alpine not only to retain brand enthusiasts but also to reach a new level in the premium segment.

The new model is expected to feature a lightweight design in the spirit of the current A110 model, a luxurious interior, and a recognizable style. The price may exceed 200,000 euros.
