BMW Bids Farewell to the 8 Series, Introducing a Special Edition in E31 Colors and with the Maximum Number of M Logos

BMW Introduces the Limited 8-Series M Heritage Edition

The G15 generation of the 8-Series is preparing to conclude its production cycle, which has lasted since 2018. As a farewell, the company has introduced the limited edition M850i Edition M Heritage, which combines modern technology with nostalgic design.

This version debuted at an exhibition in Monterey alongside the legendary E31. Unlike the original coupe from the 90s, the new model is based on the practical Gran Coupe with all-wheel drive xDrive.

Design and Features

The key element of the special version became five classic colors from the E31 era: bright red, metallic Mauritius Blue, Cosmos Black, Oxford Green, and Daytona Violet. The equipment also included:

  • Carbon roof with tricolor stripes
  • 20-inch Orbit Grey wheels
  • M Sport Professional package with dark accents

Interior and Technical Specifications

The interior is upholstered in Alcantara, including the dashboard and door cards. The seats feature a combination of black Merino leather with a diamond pattern. Additional details:

  • Tricolor stitching
  • Numbered plaques
  • Carbon fiber trim

Under the hood remains the 4.4-liter biturbo V8 with 523 hp, which accelerates the car to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. The price starts from $130,400, which is $21,000 more expensive than the standard version.

Production is limited to 500 units, with the first deliveries expected in early 2026. This car becomes a kind of bridge between the past and present BMW, demonstrating how the brand can combine traditions with innovations. The attention to detail is particularly impressive – from the reproduction of historical colors to the use of premium materials in the interior.
