Forgotten Mazda Concept Pickup Unexpectedly Appears for Sale

Unique MazdaSpeed TranSport Put Up for Sale

This unusual pickup was created based on the Mazda Protege5 (also known as Familia or 323 F) and presented at SEMA in 2005. Pro Design HotRods converted a regular station wagon into a two-door pickup with a cargo compartment, added a wide body kit from DG Motorsports, a large spoiler, and a bright green paint job with orange graphics.

The car’s interior is executed in the 2000s style: Cobra Imola leather seats, orange perforated leather, fiberglass door panels, and a custom Clarion audio system. Under the hood is a modified 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with an intercooler and a nitrous oxide injection system.

Vehicle Condition and Prospects

The seller notes that the car requires restoration: there is a fluid leak, damage to the paint on the hood, and general wear due to age. However, it remains functional, and all modifications are preserved. The unique MazdaSpeed TranSport is currently for sale for $28,900, but the seller is willing to consider offers.

This project is a true echo of the 2000s tuning era, when experiments with design and technical solutions were at their peak. It could become an interesting exhibit for collectors or a basis for a revival in a modern execution.
