Skoda Prepares an Electric Octavia: Vision O Concept is on the Way

The Czech automaker Skoda continues to expand its electric lineup. Following the success of the Elroq and Enyaq electric crossovers, the company is preparing a novelty – an electric version of the popular Octavia. A concept car called Vision O will be unveiled in September at the auto show in Munich.

The depicted silhouette clearly belongs to a wagon with dynamic contours – a low roofline, a raked windshield, and stylish rear-end lines. The design is reminiscent of the Audi A6 e-tron Avant, but the light signature indicates its belonging to the Skoda brand.

“The concept will show how the brand is developing its Modern Solid design language for a new generation of cars”

Technical Features of the Upcoming Novelty

The production version of the electric Octavia, expected by 2029, will be built on the SSP platform, shared with the future Volkswagen ID.Golf. However, thanks to a longer wheelbase, Skoda will offer more space in the cabin and trunk. The car will get an 800-volt charging system and variants with one or two electric motors.

Despite the emergence of an electric version, conventional models with internal combustion engines (ICE) will not disappear immediately – due to the popularity of hybrids in Europe, both variants will coexist on the market for some time.

In 2023, Skoda already published renders of the future electric Octavia, indicating a lengthy development process. The new concept is meant to demonstrate how the company sees the evolution of its design philosophy in the coming years. The success of the brand’s electric models in the first half of 2025 (a 13.6% sales increase) confirms the correctness of the chosen course.
