27 Lamborghini Revuelto Cars May Get Regular Doors Instead of Classic Scissor Doors

Lamborghini Recalls Hybrid Supercars Due to Door Problem

Lamborghini has announced a recall of 27 hybrid supercars due to a potential door malfunction. In some cases, the doors may unexpectedly drop from the open position, posing a danger to those nearby. The manufacturer plans to replace a critical component responsible for door locking.

The problem was discovered during testing prior to delivery in June. It was found that the spherical pin that holds the door in the upper position may not have been tightened sufficiently. This led to the heavy doors lowering on their own, which could cause injuries. As the manufacturer notes:

The doors of the Revuelto are not light, and their fall could be dangerous for those nearby.

Repair Details

Interestingly, the part that caused the recall is very compact in size – it easily fits in the palm of a hand. In the diagrams, it is marked with number 7. Lamborghini has instructed dealers to check all pins and, if necessary, tighten or replace them.

Fortunately, at the time of the recall announcement, no cases of injury due to this malfunction had been recorded. Owners of the affected vehicles will receive a repair notification in September. Some cars may have already been repaired, as dealers received information about the problem back in July.

This situation is yet another reminder of how important even the smallest components are in complex mechanisms. For Lamborghini, which is famous for its unique doors, such an incident is particularly significant, as this very feature has become a hallmark of the brand.
