Subaru Prepares Three New Electric Crossovers for Europe
By 2026, Subaru plans to launch three new electric crossovers on the European market. These models, developed jointly with Toyota, include the Uncharted, an updated version of the Solterra, and the E-Outback (the European equivalent of the Trailseeker). All of them are built on the e-Subaru Global Platform, which is an adaptation of Toyota’s e-TNGA electric architecture.
Uncharted – A Sporty Crossover
The Uncharted is the Subaru version of the Toyota C-HR+. It features a unique front-end design reminiscent of the updated Solterra, as well as a square steering wheel and a 14-inch information screen. Buyers will be able to choose between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The most powerful version produces 338 hp, and the maximum range is 363 miles (584 km) for front-wheel-drive modifications.
Updated Solterra and E-Outback
The Solterra received more powerful engines (338 hp) and a larger 73.1 kWh battery, providing over 310 miles (500 km) of range. The E-Outback, in turn, will become the brand’s largest electric crossover with two motors (377 hp) and a range of 279 miles (447 km). It is equipped with all-wheel drive, an X-Mode system, and increased ground clearance.
The first to hit the market will be the updated Solterra by the end of 2025, with the Uncharted and E-Outback debuting in early 2026. These new models will significantly expand Subaru’s electric lineup in Europe, where currently only one model – the Solterra – is available.
Subaru traditionally emphasizes safety and off-road capability, and the new electric models are no exception. The E-Outback looks particularly interesting, combining high ground clearance, power, and practicality – an ideal option for those seeking an electric car for travel. At the same time, the Uncharted could become popular among urban residents due to its compact size and good range.
