The Jetta company, which in China is a separate brand under the auspices of Volkswagen, is preparing to launch the new mid-size SUV VS8. This model, built on the MQB platform, received a 1.4-liter TSI engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. Sales in China are expected to start by the end of this year.
The external design of the VS8 stands out with a massive radiator grille, which is painted in the body color and decorated with a cross-shaped pattern. The front also received a thin LED strip that connects the headlights, and modern air intakes with a glossy black finish. The rear is made with sharp lights, an LED strip, and a combination of colored and black elements on the bumper.
Technical specifications
Although the exact release date has not yet been announced, the VS8 has already been registered with the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. This model will become part of the Jetta brand’s lineup, which already includes the VS7 crossover and other cars specifically designed for Chinese buyers.
Despite the fact that the VS8 uses Volkswagen’s technical base, its design and positioning are focused exclusively on the local market. This underscores the strategy of the Jetta brand, which since its creation in 2019 has offered cars adapted to the tastes of Chinese consumers.
