This DeLorean Received a Powerful V8 from a Supercar and is Now Ready for High-Speed Adventures

DeLorean with Ferrari V8: Power and Style

The legendary DeLorean DMC-12 has always attracted attention with its unique design, but its standard Renault V6 engine could not meet the expectations of fans. However, thanks to enthusiasts, the car has been given a new life – it has been equipped with a powerful 4.3-liter Ferrari V8 engine producing 453 horsepower. This modification debuted back in 2024 at the SEMA Show, but only now is the car ready for the road.

To handle the additional power, the team made serious changes: they reinforced the chassis, installed a six-speed gearbox from a Porsche 911, updated the suspension using KW shock absorbers, aluminum arms, and improved silent blocks. Furthermore, the car received larger brakes and Toyo R888 tires for better traction.

Road Testing

“Unlike modern designs, the DeLorean has a central frame, making it more prone to deformation. This is especially noticeable with a more powerful engine,” the engineers note.

After extensive preparation, the modified DeLorean hit the road for the first time at the Caffeine and Octane event in Atlanta. The audience was impressed by this project, which combines classic design with modern technology.

This project shows how historical value can be combined with modern technical solutions. Although the original DeLorean was not famous for its dynamics, it can now compete with modern sports cars while remaining a recognizable symbol of the 1980s. Such transformations prove that even iconic models can be given new life through a creative approach.
