Two American Legends Compete, But Only One Passes the Test

Race in Vacaville Ends in Crash

In Vacaville, California, surveillance cameras captured a dangerous race between a Chevrolet Corvette C8 and a Ford Mustang S550. After a sharp turn, the Mustang lost control and crashed into a Nissan waiting at a traffic light. The car then bounced off into the Chevrolet before coming to a stop in the middle of the road. The Corvette, although it made the turn, ended up in the oncoming lane.

Police detained the 22-year-old driver of the Mustang at the scene, while the Corvette was found only a week later. The latter was impounded for 30 days.

Causes of the Accident

As seen in the recording, the driver of the Mustang entered the turn too quickly, leading to a loss of control. An additional factor was the uneven road surface, which further worsened the situation. Unlike the Mustang, the Corvette handled the maneuver, albeit not perfectly.

The incident occurred back in May but only recently gained publicity. It is clear that street racing remains a serious problem, especially when participants ignore safety rules. Police emphasize the need to observe speed limits, particularly on difficult sections of roads.
