Mercedes-AMG hints at something bright orange and fast, but without rear glass

Mercedes-AMG is preparing a radical electric car

Mercedes-AMG has hinted at a new model with aggressive design that could become a real sensation. The car is likely to inherit features from the 2023 Vision One-Eleven concept and the classic Mercedes C111. Among the features are the absence of rear glass and a powerful electric powertrain.

In two teasers published by the brand, a bright orange color similar to that of the C111 is visible, as well as characteristic air intakes on the hood. The second shot confirms that the car will not have rear glass, and a large AMG logo is placed on the roof.

Technologies and prospects

The new model may receive innovative axial flux electric motors from the British Yasa, which Mercedes acquired in 2021. Each of them is capable of producing up to 489 hp and 800 Nm of torque. The use of batteries with cylindrical elements from Sila Nanotechnologies is also expected.

Although some suggest it could be an electric sedan, the design and technical solutions point more towards a hypercar. It is expected to be based on the AMG.EA platform with an 800-volt architecture, allowing it to compete with the best electric cars in the world.

In recent years, Mercedes-AMG has been actively expanding its lineup, adding not only powerful modifications of conventional models but also full-fledged unique projects. If the new model indeed goes into production, it could become another step towards the future of high-performance electric vehicles.
