A €500,000 Rocket G-Wagen Spotted in Ukraine (Photo)

In Ukraine, the ‘Gelik’ has long been more than just an SUV. It’s a kind of status ‘cube’ that is easily recognized even by those who are only on speaking terms with cars when they meet at a traffic light. Even when it’s stuck in traffic, it seems like the rest of the cars around automatically obey its will, clearing the way…

Without AMG, it’s no longer a ‘Gelik’, but just a cubic SUV with mileage, priced like a Kamryukha. You can, of course, drive it like that, but it’s not the same panache and charisma that everyone values so much. Because a ‘Gelik’ with AMG is like coffee with a double espresso: it charges you up, makes you pay attention, and doesn’t leave you indifferent. But a plain ‘Gelik’ without AMG is more like a decaf latte that no one takes seriously. Now, if we’re talking about Brabus…

And recently, a new level of all this appeared on our roads — the BRABUS 900 Rocket Edition, built on the basis of the Mercedes-AMG G63 and G500 (W463.2). This is no longer just a ‘Gelik’, it’s a real cubic jet engine on wheels. Under its hood is a 4.4-liter V8 BiTurbo that produces a staggering 900 horsepower and 1250 Newton meters of torque. Its top speed is 280 km/h, and it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds. For comparison, a regular G500 accelerates to 100 km/h almost twice as slow — 5.9 seconds, and its top speed is limited to 210 km/h.

Such cars are not just about speed and power. They are about a lifestyle and about wanting to show everyone that ‘I can’. The price of such a ‘cube’ starts in Europe from half a million euros, and in Ukraine, considering all duties, delivery, and customization, one can easily ‘get into’ a sum exceeding 750 thousand euros.

So if you see a black ‘cube’ on the road with a roar that more closely resembles a jet plane, know — this is not just a ‘Gelik’, this is the BRABUS 900 Rocket Edition.
