Toyota Created Such an Unusual Thing That Presented It at the Sauna Exhibition

Toyota Introduced a Unique Water-Powered Sauna

Toyota, which is actively developing hydrogen technologies, has introduced an unusual concept – a sauna that runs on hydrogen. The project was developed in collaboration with the Finnish sauna manufacturer Harvia.

This is the world’s first sauna that uses a special hydrogen heater instead of traditional electric or wood-burning stoves. The system heats the air through stone elements, producing only steam and heat without CO2 emissions.

“Collaboration with Toyota allows us to go beyond traditional solutions and demonstrate our responsibility to the environment,” said Timo Harvia, head of innovative technologies at Harvia.

The concept was presented at the World Sauna Forum in Finland. Although it is not yet known whether this development will go into mass production, it demonstrates the potential of hydrogen technologies in various areas of life. Toyota believes that hydrogen can become a key element in achieving climate neutrality.

This project highlights how innovative technologies can find unexpected applications. Hydrogen, which is often associated with cars, can now change even such a traditional field as sauna building. Finnish experts admit that without Toyota’s experience in working with hydrogen, they would hardly have considered this option so soon.
