BMW Increases Prices for the 2026 M3
The new price list shows that BMW has increased prices for all versions of the 2026 M3. The cost of the base model is $78,400, the Competition is $82,600, and the Competition xDrive is $87,700. The destination charge remains unchanged at $1175.
Why Are Prices Rising?
Production of the new models will begin in July, but the exact delivery timelines to North America are not yet known. No updates for the M3 are planned for 2026, so buyers will not receive any additional features for their money.
Since the G80 M3 appeared in 2021, the car’s price has increased significantly. For example, the base version cost $69,900 back then, and the top xDrive model was $76,900. Now, the cost of the most powerful modification is approaching $90,000 without additional equipment.
For comparison, the 2025 Mercedes-AMG C63 S costs $85,050. However, it is equipped with a four-cylinder engine, which generates less excitement than BMW’s traditional six-cylinder unit. Although Mercedes offers many modern technological solutions, BMW remains more popular among fans of powerful sedans.
Price increases for premium cars have become a trend in recent years. The BMW M3 continues to be a desirable model despite its rising cost. Its performance, build quality, and image compensate for the additional expense for many buyers. At the same time, competitors like Mercedes-AMG offer alternatives that may look more attractive in terms of price but do not always convince from a technical standpoint.
