by Many owners of the eighth-generation Corvette complained about the so-called “wall of buttons” between the driver and passenger. The manufacturer listened to the feedback and introduced an updated interior for the 2026 model. All versions, from the Stingray to the ZR1, received a new triple-screen layout, a minimum of physical buttons, and additional interior trim options.
The main change was the updated digital instrument cluster with a 12.7-inch infotainment display and a larger 14-inch panel. An additional 6.6-inch touchscreen was placed to the left of the steering wheel. This allowed engineers to get rid of a mass of buttons on the center console, replacing them with a more laconic design.
Ergonomics and Functionality
The modernized center console offers not only aesthetic improvements. It now conveniently features two illuminated cup holders, a USB-C port, and a passenger grab handle. The drive mode selector was relocated, freeing up space for wireless charging under the screen – it is equipped with a special lid to secure the smartphone. The volume knob became larger with illumination, and climate control was moved to the lower part of the display for convenience.
For the top-tier ZR1 version, a carbon frame around the digital panel is standard, while for the E-Ray and Z06 it can be ordered as an option.
Phil Zak, Creative Director at Chevrolet, noted: “When creating the interior of the 2026 Corvette, we thought through every detail – from the upholstery materials to the placement of elements. The combination of new screens and technologies ensures comfort for both the driver and the passenger.”
