Volkswagen has introduced a new Black Package for the 2025 model year ID.4. This package adds black mirror caps and door handles, as well as 20-inch wheels. The updated crossover is expected to hit the market soon.

In addition to black elements, the package includes dark emblems and wheels. The S Plus version also gets an automatically dimming driver’s side mirror.

Cost and Specifications

The Black Package costs $695 for both trims. The price for the ID.4 Pro S starts at $50,195, while the all-wheel-drive ID.4 Pro S Plus starts at $57,295. The rear-wheel-drive version has a power output of 282 hp and a range of 291 miles, while the all-wheel-drive models have 335 hp and 263 miles.

Future Changes and Prospects

Despite the late updates in the model year, Volkswagen is preparing more serious changes for 2026. CEO Thomas Schäfer described the future update as a complete rebranding with changes in both appearance and interior. The updated model is expected to have more physical buttons and switches, as well as a possible name change to ID. Tiguan, aligning with the brand’s new strategy of using names rather than alphanumeric designations.

These changes could significantly impact the competitiveness of the electric crossover, especially given the growing demand for environmentally friendly vehicles. Improvements to the interior and exterior are likely aimed at attracting new customers looking for modern and functional solutions in electric cars.
