Falling Prices for the Chevrolet Corvette Z06
If you’re looking for a supercar in the USA with a budget of $100,000, the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 should be one of the top contenders. Z06 prices continue to fall due to packed dealer lots, making this model one of the best buys of the year.
Original Cost and the Used Car Market
The official starting price for the current Z06 is $112,000 for the base trim, which isn’t the most attractive. The real bargain is found on the lightly used market, where discounts are piling up. A stunning 2024 model in Adrenaline Red was recently sold for just $102,000, one of the lowest deal figures to date.
The Corvette Z06 offers Ferrari-like emotions for half the price but leaves buyers confused.
This example, sold on Bring a Trailer, is equipped with the 2LZ package and additional options like the front lift for $2,595, sport bucket seats for $1,995, painted calipers, and black exhaust tips. Its original price was $135,580, but with only 8,000 miles on the odometer, it has already lost over $33,000 in value.
Failed Auctions
This is not an isolated case. Several other C8 Z06s have gone through Bring a Trailer auctions in recent months, and bids have often failed to meet expectations.
In August, a black 2025 Corvette Z06 1LZ with only 1,100 miles was listed for sale. Bids reached only $96,500, despite its original price being $120,375 and it remaining as pristine as when it left the GM factory in Bowling Green.
Bring a Trailer
Earlier this month, a white 2024 Z06 also failed to sell on Bring a Trailer. This Corvette had only 1,400 miles, was a 3LZ trim with an original price of $156,950, but bids stopped at $96,000.
Warranty Issues
It should be noted that interest in this car was limited because its factory warranty was blocked or voided by GM, as it had been previously sold within the first 12 months of ownership. Although the owner claimed to have paid for a separate 48-month/100,000-mile warranty from Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale, where the car was purchased, many auction participants were concerned about the lack of official factory protection.
Bring a Trailer
These trends indicate that even powerful and popular models like the Corvette Z06 are not immune to rapid depreciation, especially on the secondary market. Buyers looking for a bargain can find great deals among lightly used cars, but it’s important to consider factors such as warranty and the vehicle’s overall condition. Rapid price changes may also be linked to general economic conditions or an oversupply in the market.
