New Lexus Glam LX Concept
Lexus has introduced the unique Glam LX concept, based on the large LX SUV. This special vehicle is equipped with a full-fledged dressing room in the luggage compartment, making it a true novelty on the market.
Unconventional Approach
As Monty Python once said, now for something completely different. Women make up approximately half of all drivers, but automakers rarely create concept cars specifically oriented towards them. Lexus decided to correct this situation with the Glam LX.
There’s no need to delve into discussions about how some men also love cosmetics, and some women adore SUVs or track days. The Glam LX is created to attract the attention of a specific audience, and it achieves this through its uniqueness.
Exterior
The concept is based on the production LX but has received a pearlescent chameleon wrap, crystal emblems, and a pink-and-white leather interior with mohair and silk. This in itself attracts attention, but the most interesting part is hidden inside.
Opening the rear doors reveals a full-fledged makeup area with sliding chairs, two illuminated Robern mirrors for touch-ups during the journey. A sliding screen provides privacy when changing clothes, and clothing can be selected from a special illuminated hanger or built-in drawers.
Interior and Features
The theme continues in the cabin, where there are special holders for hair styling tools, a refrigerated console for cosmetics, an illuminated compartment for handbags, and various other storage systems. All this might seem excessive, but no more extravagant than the male-oriented concepts we see every year.
The Glam LX marks a new chapter for Lexus, moving beyond comfort and craftsmanship to cater to our customers’ passions and their desire for self-expression
Lisa McCuin from Lexus’s marketing department also added that this is a bold application of Lexus design and innovation in a completely unexpected direction. It might inspire other automakers to think in a similar way.
This project is the result of collaboration between Lexus and Complete Customs, demonstrating how a car can become not just a means of transportation, but also a personal space for creativity and self-expression. Similar initiatives could open up new market niches and change perceptions of what modern cars can be.
