Stellantis has announced a recall of 2022–2025 model year Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer vehicles. The reason is the improper installation of the trim around the windows, which can peel off during operation. According to the manufacturer’s estimates, the problem affects approximately 123,000 Wagoneers and 41,000 Grand Wagoneers.
This issue arose due to a technological defect at the plant in Warren, Michigan, where the Door/Window Opening (DLO) trim may not have been securely fastened. Although the absence of trim elements significantly spoils the appearance of the premium vehicle, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) emphasizes the potential danger to other road users, as detached parts can fall onto the road and cause accidents.
Manufacturer’s Response and Further Actions
As of August this year, Jeep has already processed 405 warranty claims related to this malfunction. Starting October 31st, owners will be offered to visit authorized service centers free of charge to have the trim securely re-fastened. Furthermore, customers will have the opportunity to learn about updated models, such as the 2026 Grand Wagoneer, which will receive LED lighting and a hybrid powertrain.
Jeep’s Future Plans
Along with resolving the recall issue, Jeep is preparing a number of new products, including an updated version of the Cherokee and the Recon SUV. This indicates the brand’s strategic focus on combining traditional ruggedness with modern technology and environmentally friendly solutions.
