Chinese Copy of Bugatti Chiron to Debut in 2027 with Electric Drive and Range Extender Option, but without W16 Engine

New Electric Vehicle from Chinese Manufacturer Dreame

Chinese vacuum cleaner manufacturer Dreame Technology continues work on creating an electric vehicle that looks almost identical to the Bugatti Chiron. The company’s subsidiary, Dreame Auto, has published a new image of its future car, which appears to have been created using artificial intelligence. Company representatives also shared new technical details and announced a second luxury car brand that plans to compete with Bentley and Rolls-Royce.

Details of the New Render

The new image, which is still a render and not a photo of a real car, shows the model with the codename “Dreame Bugatti” with its doors open. It can be seen that the rear doors open against the direction of travel, all four doors lift upwards like a McLaren, and there is no central body pillar.

Comparison with Previous Images

A comparison of the new image with previous ones shows some differences in details. On the new white-colored render, two openings are visible on the hood behind the headlights, and the radiator grille has become wider and less rounded, reminiscent of Jaguar’s design. However, these changes are unlikely to appease Bugatti, which is probably not thrilled by such imitations.

Technical Features and Production Plans

According to sources, the car will be available in two versions: fully electric and a hybrid with a range extender. Production is planned to start in 2027 at a factory near Tesla’s Gigafactory in Berlin. The first prototype will be presented at CES in Las Vegas in January of next year.

Two Automotive Subsidiaries of the Company

Dreame Technology is creating two automotive subsidiaries. Dreame Auto is focused on developing the model inspired by the Bugatti Chiron, which, according to the vision of founder Yu Hao, is intended to break speed records among hypercars. The second subsidiary, Starry Sky Auto, is working on creating luxury SUVs that will compete with the Rolls-Royce Cullinan and Bentley.

Characteristics of Starry Sky Auto Models

According to the founder, Starry Sky Auto models will be built on wheelbases of 3.2 and 3.3 meters. He also set requirements for the first model to exceed the size of the Li Auto L9 and M9, and for the second to have a “majestic and robust appearance” with dimensions no smaller than the Cullinan.

Team and Development Experience

Dreame Auto has assembled an interdisciplinary team that includes specialists in development, production, and quality control. The team includes both employees from the company’s original smart equipment business and experts from the automotive industry.

Pricing Policy and Ambitions

Prices for Starry Sky Auto models will range from $38,000 to $83,000, which is significantly lower than the cost of Bentley and Rolls-Royce. The company plans to compete with electric vehicles from smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi, which is also expanding into the automotive market.

The planned market entry in 2027 and the announced technical specifications make Dreame Auto an interesting player in the electric vehicle market. However, the success of this initiative will depend on whether the company can realize its ambitious plans and compete with already established manufacturers.
