Key facts about the new model

Inspired by British luxury

The Chinese company Dreame Auto, which previously borrowed Bugatti’s design for its first car, has now turned its attention to Rolls Royce. The technology giant, known for its vacuum cleaners, has published the first teasers of its new SUV, and it is clear that the designers were inspired by photos of the $400,000 Cullinan.

Shadowed images and a short video showcase a massive SUV with a large Rolls Royce-style radiator grille, albeit without the famous “Spirit of Ecstasy” figurine. LED headlights are located on both sides, and the body has angular shapes, softened by the rounded edges of the hood and fenders.

Resemblance to the Cullinan throughout the body

The resemblance to the Rolls Royce is noticeable not only from the front but also from the rear, where the taillights strongly resemble the Cullinan, as does the slight sedan-like profile of the trunk lid at the base of the rear window. The main difference is a chrome trim between the taillights.

Production and presentation plans

The new luxury SUV, which will be fully unveiled at the Global Strategic Partner Conference, is set to hit the market in 2027. In the same year, Dreame will begin supplying its Bugatti-inspired four-door sedan. Both models will be produced together in Germany at a site next to Tesla’s Berlin Gigafactory. The presentation of the Bugatti clone is scheduled for January at CES in Las Vegas.

Technological features

Technical details are still limited, but in a Weibo post, Dreame mentions the development of a new pre-heating technology to ensure the optimal operating temperature of the internal combustion engine (likely a hybrid setup) from the very start. The company claims that fuel consumption is reduced by 38% and emissions by 43% thanks to this system.

Other posts mention an intelligent chassis that uses an AI algorithm to scan the road and accordingly adjust the active suspension, the largest rear-wheel steering angle and the smallest turning radius in its class, as well as a fully electromechanical braking system.

Sedan specifications

An earlier post, likely about the Bugatti-style sedan, notes a drag coefficient of 0.185 and a “Super Track Mode” that provides acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 1.8 seconds. Chinese media report that the car will be offered with a choice of all-electric drive and a hybrid powertrain with a range extender.

The emergence of such ambitious projects from technology companies indicates growing competition in the automotive industry. Dreame Auto demonstrates a readiness to compete not only on price but also through bold design solutions and innovative technologies, which may force traditional manufacturers to reconsider their approaches to developing new models.
