Presentation of the New Halo Car
The RTR company has introduced a new halo car – the Mustang Spec 5, which is a wide-body muscle car. This model has an impressive starting price of $159,999, which is $95,619 more expensive than the 2026 Mustang Dark Horse, priced at $64,380.
Power and Technical Specifications
The car is based on the Mustang GT with the Performance package and is equipped with a 5.0-liter V8 engine. However, it is enhanced by a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger, an HD Race Intercooler cooling system, and a Borla cat-back exhaust system.

Thanks to these upgrades, power has increased to over 870 hp and 660 lb-ft of torque. This is 390 hp and 245 lb-ft more than the standard GT, and even exceeds the power of Ford’s track version – the 815 hp GTD – by 55 hp. RTR has not announced performance figures, but the engine can be paired with either a six-speed manual or a ten-speed automatic transmission.
Suspension and Braking System
The car is equipped with the RTR Tactical suspension, which includes 30-way adjustable front dampers and rear shocks, adjustable springs, and sway bars. Furthermore, the model features 20-inch forged aluminum wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires and a Brembo braking system with two-piece rotors and six-piston calipers at the front.

Exterior and Design
Externally, the car features wide bodywork, including unique fenders, bumper extensions, and composite side skirts. It also has a vented hood, an illuminated grille, and special graphic elements. The Mustang Spec 5 features numerous carbon fiber parts, such as a front splitter, side skirts, and “towers”.
Additionally, the model is equipped with a large spoiler and an original fuel filler door that opens upwards. The manufacturer particularly emphasizes this detail, noting that it demonstrates an “unwavering commitment to details”.
Interior and Limited Series
The interior features Recaro sport seats with RTR branding, upholstered in gray leather and black suede. It also includes RTR floor mats, a teardrop-shaped gear shift lever, and a plaque signed by Vaughn Gittin Jr.
Production of the Spec 5 is limited to 50 units for the 2026 model year. Despite the high price, this model is more than $10,000 cheaper than the 830-horsepower Shelby Super Snake.
This car demonstrates how tuning ateliers continue to develop the muscle car concept by adding extreme technical solutions and exclusivity. Comparisons with other powerful Mustang versions show that the high-performance market remains competitive, and buyers are willing to pay for uniqueness and additional power.
