Honda Created a Real Pokémon That You Can Ride, and It Even Walks

Amazing Honda Motorcycle Inspired by Pokémon

This is not a strange mascot for a sports team or an abstract work of art. Before you is an incredible concept motorcycle created by Honda. The model, named Honda Koraidon, was presented during the Japanese MotoGP Grand Prix at the Motegi circuit and, impressively, it is fully functional. Nothing like this has been seen before.

Collaboration with The Pokémon Company

The giant motorcycle was developed in close collaboration with The Pokémon Company and is an almost full-sized copy of the character Koraidon from the Pokémon Scarlet game. Characteristically, the original Koraidon moves on its hind legs, not on wheels, but this model recreates its image almost perfectly.

Design and Colors

Most of Koraidon’s body is made in bright red tones, including the front and hind legs, torso, and head. The blue plate on the back acts as a handlebar, and there are also streaky hairs in blue, pink, and white colors.

Creation History

The idea for the motorcycle emerged last year as part of the Toyota Engineering Society project under the slogan “The dedication of adults makes children’s dreams come true.” About 40 engineers from Honda’s motorcycle and power products divisions participated in the development.

Functionality and Technologies

Although the power source is not disclosed, the motorcycle is equipped with Honda’s advanced self-balancing technology that prevents it from falling. By motorcycle standards, it is enormous in size, so this technology is extremely important.

This unique motorcycle moves not with the help of wheels. Instead, Koraidon’s front and hind legs move back and forth, providing movement at walking speed.

Public Debut

In early August, selected participants of the Suzuki 8 Hours endurance race had the opportunity to ride this unique motorcycle, feeling like real Pokémon.

The creation of such a project demonstrates how technological innovations can be combined with pop culture to create something truly unique. It also highlights the growing interest of automotive manufacturers in collaborations aimed at attracting a new audience, particularly fans of games and animation. Similar initiatives could become an impetus for further experiments at the intersection of fantasy and reality.
