Custom Light Animations from Bentley
Bentley is expanding the capabilities of its animated light sculptures, previously introduced in the Batur model. Now customers will be able to create unique light greetings lasting up to 11 seconds. This feature will allow car owners to personalize the door opening process with special visual effects.
Structure and Capabilities of Animations
The system consists of two parts: an initial sequence when the doors are opened and a cyclical animation that repeats. For example, during a presentation in Bucharest, Bentley used a projection of the Romanian Athenaeum image, surrounded by “dancing notes” symbolizing music. Customers can implement various ideas – from simply writing a name to complex scenes, such as a falling feather.
Technological Implementation
Animations are created thanks to an innovative system that includes three colored light sources, five lenses, two prisms, and a digital micromirror device measuring 8 mm². The light signal passes through additional lenses and projects the animation onto the ground. A key element is the 415,800 tiny aluminum mirrors, each 16 microns in size, which move and form the image pixels.
This technology combines digital innovation with handcrafted luxury, setting new standards in the automotive industry.

Development Prospects
The personalization of light animations opens wide horizons for creativity, allowing customers to realize the boldest ideas. This approach not only emphasizes the brand’s exclusivity but also demonstrates how the automotive industry integrates art and technology to create a unique user experience.
