Launch Preparation
Sony Honda Mobility is preparing to launch the Afeela 1 next year, conducting significant preparatory work. In connection with the approaching event, the company announced plans to present a pre-production model at the CES exhibition.
Presentation Details
The manufacturer is keeping details under wraps for now but has announced that several pre-production cars will be presented in different colors. The company also plans to reveal “interesting new updates” regarding the electric vehicle.
Additional Information: The Afeela 1 electric vehicle from Honda and Sony will cost from $89,900, with first deliveries scheduled for 2026
Technical Specifications
More details will become available in the coming months, but Sony Honda Mobility has already stated that the high-tech electric vehicle will have a starting price of $89,900 and will be equipped with an all-wheel drive system with two motors with a combined power of 483 hp.
The car will receive a 91 kWh battery that will provide a range of up to 300 miles. The Afeela 1 will also have a native NACS charging port, although DC fast charging will be limited to a modest 150 kW.
Trims and Equipment
The Afeela 1 Signature model priced at $102,900 will be the first on the market and will receive 21-inch wheels, as well as an entertainment system for rear passengers with two 12.9-inch displays.
This trim will also include wireless smartphone chargers and a digital rearview mirror with HomeLink. Buyers can expect advanced driver assistance systems, as the vehicle is equipped with 40 sensors, including cameras, radars, and lidars.
New Concept
In addition to the road model, Sony Honda Mobility also announced the presentation of a new concept. Little is known about it yet, but the company stated that this mysterious model will demonstrate their commitment to brand development.
While information is scarce, it is worth noting that Sony already presented the Vision-S 02 concept in 2022. It was an electric crossover that could become a logical addition to the Afeela lineup, given the growing popularity of crossovers among consumers.

These announcements demonstrate the serious intentions of the Sony and Honda joint venture in the competitive electric vehicle market. It is worth noting that the starting price of nearly $90,000 positions the Afeela 1 in the premium segment, which could be a challenge for a brand that is just beginning its history in the automotive market. The technical specifications, particularly power and range, meet modern standards; however, the fast charging limitation may require further improvement to ensure competitiveness.
