Unlicensed Corvette C8 Driver Blames ‘Wrong Turn’ After Getting Stuck On Train Tracks

Sports Car on the Rails

An incident involving a Chevrolet Corvette Stingray that ended up on railway tracks in Boston has become another strange road adventure for this car. According to police, the driver, who is only 20 years old, explained his actions by saying he got lost in an unfamiliar area and made a wrong turn.

A Chain of Poor Decisions

However, as it turned out, the wrong turn was only the beginning of the problems. Transit police representatives reported that the driver did not have any documents on him that would allow him to be behind the wheel. The Corvette was also unregistered and had no insurance policy. Thus, the expensive sports car, worth over $60,000, was on the road with clear violations of the law.

Rescue Operation and Consequences

Special services from the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) were called to the scene on Wednesday evening. They managed to remove the car from the tracks using a tow truck. Details regarding the further fate of the driver and the car have not been disclosed, but it is known that criminal charges have been filed against the offender.

Transit police reported that patrol officers arrived at the intersection of Beacon and Marion streets in Brookline around 5:00 PM, where they discovered the bright two-seater coupe directly on the tracks.

Complex Intersection and Lack of Justification

Local residents note that the intersection where the incident occurred can indeed confuse someone who doesn’t know the road. In particular, at night or when overly focused on a navigation device, the railway tracks can be mistaken for part of the roadway. However, as law enforcement officials point out, no circumstances justify driving a car without proper documents and insurance, which creates a danger for other road users.

This event is not unique. Previously, cases have been recorded in other cities where expensive sports cars ended up on railway tracks due to driver errors, indicating the potential inexperience or carelessness of some owners of powerful cars. After the Corvette was removed from the tracks, the driver likely had to find alternative ways to reach his destination. As ironically noted on social media, at least he ended up right next to public transportation.
