The video was published on TikTok by a user who said she first noticed a green Tacoma rapidly approaching from behind. Alarmed by its, in her opinion, unpredictable behavior and proximity to her car, she changed to the adjacent lane and started recording.
In the video, the Tacoma seems to accelerate sharply as it approaches the intersection. The brake lights come on an instant before the impact, but the pickup fails to stop in time and slams into the rear of a Hyundai Santa Fe that was stopped at the traffic light.
Consequences of the Impact
The force of the impact sent both the Hyundai and the Toyota into the air, with the Tacoma rolling over several times before landing on its side. According to the video’s author, the driver and passenger of the Santa Fe were “in absolute shock and in bad shape” after the crash but miraculously survived.
They were undoubtedly saved by the fact that they were in a fairly modern SUV. Had they been in a smaller and older car, the injuries could have been much more serious.
The Santa Fe appears to have sustained significant rear-end damage, and its front end was also affected as the Tacoma, while flipping, moved forward. During the rollover, the pickup also struck a small black sedan nearby.

I changed lanes because she ended up right behind me, and that’s when I started recording. The white car was badly damaged, the driver and passenger were in absolute shock and in bad shape. I estimated her speed at 80 mph, considering I was driving about 55 to get away from her before changing lanes and starting to record. Be careful.
