This Lexus LX 700 looks no different from any other black SUV on the outside, until someone throws a grenade at it

Armored Lexus LX 700: Invisible Protection from Bullets and Grenades

This black Lexus LX 700 at first glance looks no different from ordinary SUVs. However, hidden beneath its standard bodywork are serious modifications that turn it into a true fortress on wheels. Instead of running from danger, this vehicle is built to withstand it.

Protection Level: Withstands Fire from an AK-47

Miami Armored has reinforced this LX 700, giving it the ability to withstand 7.62mm caliber bullets used in AK-47 rifles. Furthermore, thanks to the 360-degree perimeter protection of the body, the vehicle can survive the explosions of two hand grenades.

Reinforcement of Key Components and Additional Equipment

In addition to strengthening the body panels, Miami Armored installs ballistic glass around the entire perimeter, as well as armor plates on the fuel tank, engine bay, and battery. After all, there is no point in having an armored passenger compartment if a few shots to the fuel tank or engine can immobilize the vehicle.

Among other key changes are the installation of a reinforced rear bulkhead, strengthened hinges, and tires with a Runflat system. A shutter system between different panels is also provided so that no bullet can penetrate inside the cabin.

A wide selection of additional options is available, including a night vision camera, siren and loudspeaker, LED strobe lights front and rear, reinforced bumpers, an oxygen filtration system, radiator protection, and a roof escape hatch.

Hybrid Powertrain Unchanged

Miami Armored, which works in partnership with Canadian armor experts Inkas, has not interfered with the LX 700’s powertrain. This means the vehicle retains its 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged hybrid V6 engine, producing an impressive 457 hp and 790 Nm of torque.

According to the company, the additional weight of the armor does not significantly affect the vehicle’s dynamic characteristics, which will undoubtedly please demanding customers.

This approach to modernization demonstrates that modern armor does not necessarily mean sacrificing comfort or power. By retaining the factory hybrid engine, the engineers managed to achieve a balance between protection and practicality. This solution is especially relevant for high-risk regions where safety is a priority, but it is also important to have a vehicle that does not attract undue attention with its appearance. In fact, Miami Armored has created a “grey cardinal” among SUVs — inconspicuous on the outside, but ready for the most severe tests on the inside.
