German atelier Pogea Racing has presented its own vision of a restomod based on the Porsche 964. This project, named PR964, involves a radical update of the classic sports car.
Carbon body and modern aerodynamics
Each project starts with a donor Porsche 964, which is completely stripped down to the bare body for restoration and digital scanning. After measuring, strengthening, and inspecting the chassis, the team of craftsmen covers it with a body fully made of carbon fiber.
The car’s shape borrows the silhouette of the 964 but receives modern details, including a front bumper in the style of the 992.2 GT3 and widened fenders inspired by the 911 Turbo line. The rear fenders are widened by approximately 8.8 cm and feature functional air intakes to feed the air-cooled flat engine. A ventilated engine cover is combined with a large rear wing.
Three engine options to choose from
PR964 buyers can choose from one of three flat-six engines. The base is a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter engine, created for purists who value sharp throttle response. Next comes a turbocharged 3.6-liter engine with about 400 hp. The flagship option is a 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine producing 500 hp. Pogea Racing conducts engine testing and calibration in cooperation with the Swiss company EGMO.
Chassis, brakes, and interior
Regardless of the powertrain choice, the suspension and braking system have undergone significant changes. The car features adjustable KW Clubsport coilover suspension and enlarged carbon-ceramic brakes, hidden behind custom alloy wheels.
The interior has also undergone a complete transformation according to the owner’s wishes. The presented car has a black finish with white and red accents. The cabin features modern sport seats, a three-spoke steering wheel, an aluminum gear knob, carbon fiber inserts, and a removed rear seat row.
Custom order and price
Pogea Racing states that each PR964 is built to order, with the owner playing an important role in the development process. The price remains undisclosed, but the scale of updates and exclusivity hint at a very high cost. Besides the Porsche 964, the atelier also offers modified versions of the Alfa Romeo 4C, Ferrari 488 GTB, Abarth 695, and C1 Corvette.
This project from Pogea Racing demonstrates that the Porsche 964 restomod market continues to actively develop. The key feature of the PR964 is the combination of a classic shape with modern technologies and materials, such as a fully carbon fiber body. The choice of three engines allows satisfying both fans of naturally aspirated motors and those seeking maximum power. The individualized approach to each order makes this car not just a tuning project but a true work of art on wheels, aimed at the most demanding clients.
