Updated Nissan Frontier 2027: Prices and New Versions
Nissan has announced the start of sales for the updated 2027 Frontier pickup. The vehicle will arrive at dealers this month, with a starting price of $32,490. This is only $340 more than the previous model, which started at $32,150.
New Sport Edition Version
The main highlight is the introduction of the Sport Edition trim. It is based on the SV version and costs an additional $990. This modification is inspired by the off-road PRO-4X version.
Exterior changes include a black grille, mirrors, and lower front bumper section. Also added are graphic “Sport” decals on the sides, black 17-inch wheels shod with Hankook Dynapro off-road tires. The vehicle receives aluminum underbody protection and LED fog lights.
Inside, changes are minimal, but black upholstery with yellow contrast inserts and stitching has been added.
Other Updates and Equipment
For PRO-X and PRO-4X versions, a Moonroof package is now available for $675. The PRO Convenience packages for $1,640 now include a Qi2 wireless charging pad. Additionally, the color palette has been expanded with a new Alpine Metallic shade.
As before, the Frontier is offered in King Cab and Crew Cab variants. Base Crew Cab versions are equipped with LED headlights and 16-inch alloy wheels. Inside, a 7-inch instrument cluster display, 8-inch infotainment system, and a four-speaker audio system are installed.
Despite the base equipment, the pickup includes safety systems: blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam switching, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic rear braking.
Technical Specifications
All models are powered by a 3.8-liter V6 engine producing 310 hp (231 kW) and 381 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Optional all-wheel drive is available.

The updates for the 2027 Nissan Frontier are fairly restrained, but they demonstrate the manufacturer’s desire to remain competitive in the mid-size pickup segment. The introduction of the Sport Edition version, which offers a more aggressive appearance without a significant price increase, may appeal to buyers who want a stylish vehicle without paying a premium for the all-wheel-drive PRO-4X. It is worth noting that the Frontier continues to rely on the time-tested 3.8-liter V6 engine, which can be both an advantage (reliability) and a disadvantage (fuel economy) compared to competitors offering turbocharged four-cylinder engines. Given the modest price increase and the addition of new options, such as wireless charging, Nissan is trying to strike a balance between affordability and modern technology, a key factor in competing with models like the Ford Ranger, Chevrolet Colorado, and Toyota Tacoma.
