What cars were in the Ukrainian State Traffic Inspectorate (DAI) and Traffic Police (DPS) during the years of Independence: exclusive from an auto blogger (photo)

Auto blogger Roma Urraco has published a selection of rare cars used by the State Traffic Inspectorate (DAI) and Traffic Police (DPS) units in Ukraine over the years. While the modern police fleet consists mainly of standard models, in the 1990s and 2000s, one could encounter service vehicles on the roads that look like true exotica today.

Rare DPS cars replenished the archive with historical photographs

The author calls one of the main finds an archival photo of a Ford Mustang taken in the 1990s. The photo was provided by a person whose father once delivered this car from the USA to Ukraine. According to the blogger, this historical image had not been publicly shown before.

The selection also includes an Opel Calibra that was in service in Zaporizhzhia. The author notes that it is precisely thanks to such archival photographs that one can trace how diverse the fleet of Ukrainian DAI and DPS was in the first decades after gaining Independence.
