AUDI E7X could prove that German electric cars from China surpass those made in Germany

The German automaker Audi has officially presented its new E7X electric crossover in China, which impresses with its technical characteristics and futuristic design, developed specifically for the Chinese market.

Key features of the novelty

The E7X model, created jointly with the Chinese partner SAIC under the special AUDI brand, differs from all other Audis sold in Europe or the USA. The car has impressive dimensions: a length of over 5 meters and a wheelbase of over 3 meters. Among the main technical features:

Design of the future

The design of the E7X is radically different from traditional Audis. Instead of the characteristic radiator grille, the front features hundreds of small LEDs, creating a unique light show. The side profile is executed with sharp lines, retractable door handles, and cameras instead of conventional mirrors. The rear is also equipped with bright LED taillights that wrap around the body.

This AUDI is what happens when a German brand asks China what it should be.

Power at the level of a sports car

The technical specifications of the E7X are also unique. The car will be equipped with batteries from CATL to choose from: 100 kWh or 109.3 kWh. The driving range depending on the configuration will be from 615 to 751 kilometers.

The base version with a single electric motor on the rear axle will develop 402 hp. The top model with two motors will deliver 671 horsepower, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.97 seconds. Such dynamics truly correspond to the level of a sports car.

Awaiting the complete picture

So far, Audi has not disclosed details regarding the interior of the new E7X. However, it is expected that the car will be fully presented next month at the Beijing Auto Show, where all details regarding trim levels and prices will also become known.

The appearance of the E7X in the Chinese market clearly demonstrates how global auto giants are adapting to the local specifics and demands of the world’s largest automobile market. Creating a separate product not bound by the brand’s design and engineering traditions for Europe allows offering a product that is more competitive in price and technology. This could become a trend for other manufacturers seeking to maintain their positions in China amid fierce competition from local electric brands. The success of this model could influence Audi’s further global electrification strategy.
