Updated 2027 Maserati Grecale: Betting on a Powerful V6 and Electric Power
The segment of stylish and sporty European crossovers is extremely crowded, and standing out in it solely by the badge on the hood is becoming increasingly difficult. Maserati believes that a series of updates for the Grecale model will be able to lure buyers away from German competitors. Therefore, the 2027 lineup has received significant changes.
Three Versions with V6 Engine
For 2027, four different versions of the Grecale are introduced. Three gasoline models are equipped with the company’s signature 3.0-liter Nettuno V6 engine with twin turbocharging, each with a different level of boost. The base version is the Grecale V6, which develops 385 hp at 6500 rpm and 500 Nm of torque in the range from 2000 to 4000 rpm. This is enough for acceleration to 96 km/h in 5 seconds and a top speed of 260 km/h.
Next comes the Grecale Modena V6 version. It has the same technical characteristics and performance figures but has received settings for more dynamic driving. Undoubtedly, the most interesting model in the lineup is the Grecale Trofeo, which produces 523 hp at 6500 rpm and 620 Nm of torque. Such a crossover can accelerate to 96 km/h in 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 285 km/h. All versions with the V6 engine work in conjunction with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Electric Version for the Eco-Conscious
The fully electric Maserati Grecale Folgore remains in the lineup for 2027. It uses a battery pack with a capacity of 105 kWh and a 400-volt electrical architecture, as well as a pair of electric motors. Its power is 542 hp and 819 Nm of torque. Acceleration to 96 km/h takes 4 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 220 km/h.
Design and Interior
According to Maserati, the new Grecale draws design inspiration from the powerful MC20 supercar. The car has received a completely new front bumper, which looks particularly aggressive in the Trofeo version thanks to the modified radiator grille. As before, the Folgore has a somewhat different appearance, including a redesigned front end with an active radiator grille that can open or close depending on the thermal load.
Changes have also occurred inside. For example, a new multifunctional steering wheel has appeared, available in leather and Alcantara finishes. Maserati has also updated its digital clock, using real metal and a glass bezel, making it much more luxurious.
Technologies and Safety Systems
Among other important features of the Grecale is the available air suspension on the Grecale V6 and Modena V6 versions, which provides five different ground clearance levels depending on the driving mode. Maserati has also added a new driver fatigue detection system, removed many buttons in the cabin, and launched two new ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems).
Thus, the updated Grecale offers a wide choice of powertrains: from powerful gasoline V6s to a fully electric version. The updates have touched not only the technical part but also the design and interior, which should help the model compete with German premium crossovers. Special emphasis is placed on the Trofeo version, which, with its 523 hp and supercar dynamics, could become the main magnet for buyers looking for a combination of practicality and genuine Italian passion. At the same time, keeping the Folgore electric version indicates the brand’s desire to also cover those who prefer eco-friendly technologies without compromising performance.
