The Italian AC Motorsport, together with Michelotto, has presented the Michelotto Gruppo 4 Tributo, created with inspiration from the Ferrari 308. The new sports car has received a naturally aspirated V8, a manual gearbox and a lightweight composite body. This is reported by Carscoops.
Michelotto Gruppo 4 Tributo: a new chassis and design in the style of the Ferrari 308
Despite its resemblance to a restomod, the Michelotto Gruppo 4 Tributo is built from scratch. Its basis is a specially developed tubular chassis with lightweight composite panels. AC Motorsport founder Francesco Calzavara previously worked at Michelotto.
The silhouette and dimensions of the Michelotto Gruppo 4 Tributo are close to those of the original Ferrari 308. At the front, pop-up headlights are retained, complemented by horizontal daytime running lights. The body has widened fenders, ventilation slots and large air intakes behind the doors.
At the rear, the Michelotto Gruppo 4 Tributo has four round lights, twin exhaust tips and a diffuser made of exposed carbon. The star-shaped wheels are fitted with Pirelli tires.
Naturally aspirated V8: 380 hp and exclusively a manual gearbox
The 3.4-liter engine of the Michelotto Gruppo 4 Tributo develops 380 hp and approximately 365 Nm. It is paired only with a manual gearbox with a dog-leg layout, in which first gear is located separately from the main H-pattern.
The curb weight of the Michelotto Gruppo 4 Tributo is 950 kg, 140 kg less than the original. The prototype’s interior features a carbon panel, a screen in front of the driver, physical switches, a three-spoke steering wheel and carbon racing seats.
The name Michelotto Gruppo 4 Tributo refers to the rally Ferrari 308 GTB cars in the Group 4 category, which Michelotto prepared for participation in the WRC. The start date of sales and the price of the new car were not announced.
