Alfa Romeo Could Introduce a New Sports Model
A representative of Alfa Romeo hinted at the possibility of launching a new premium sports model. It is likely to appear after the updated versions of the Giulia and Stelvio. It is assumed that the car could be built on the STLA Large platform and compete with the BMW M4.
Fans of the brand have long been waiting for a new sports model, as previous projects, such as the 4C or the canceled 8C, did not become mass-produced. The limited-edition supercar 33 Stradale recently appeared, but it is produced in small numbers and costs about a million dollars, making it inaccessible to the general public.
“Any person working at Alfa Romeo will tell you that we would like to have another affordable sports car”
Brand Priorities
The company acknowledges that it is a relatively small manufacturer compared to Audi, Mercedes, or Porsche. Therefore, Alfa Romeo is initially focusing on improving its core models, such as the Giulia and Stelvio, to ensure their profitability. Only after that can more ambitious projects be considered.
If a new sports model does appear, it will likely be not a two-seater, but a four-seater coupe based on the STLA Large platform used in the Dodge Charger. It might resemble the previously canceled GTV project, but for now, this remains only speculation.
The 33 Stradale was only possible to implement because it was a side project that did not interfere with the main processes. If it had created problems, management would have simply blocked it. Currently, Alfa Romeo is being cautious but has not abandoned the idea of creating new sports cars in the future.
