Americans showcased a pilotless flying car priced like an SUV

A flying car, the BlackFly, developed by Opener was presented in California. The novelty is promised to be sold next year at the price of an SUV (we hope that this SUV is not a Bentley Bentayga).

The flying car was developed over nine years, and during testing it completed 1400 flights and covered more than 19 thousand km.

BlackFly is a single-seat multicopter with vertical takeoff and landing. It is equipped with an autopilot, so the owner does not have to be a pilot.

Eight propellers are driven by electric motors, and the maximum speed will be 130 km/h. The 12 kWh battery allows for a range of up to 65 km.

BlackFly can be charged in 7.4 hours from a regular power outlet and in 25 minutes from a “fast” charging station. In the USA, a less powerful version will be available with a top speed of 100 km/h and a range of 40 km.
