American agency J.D. Power published a new car reliability rating, exclusively featuring Chinese brands this time. To the researchers’ surprise, the quality of vehicles from China has noticeably improved in recent years…

Which Chinese cars are the most reliable? This question interests many, especially in recent years. It used to be that buyers of ‘Chinese products’ were pointed at with fingers, but now many auto giants from China actively lure designers and engineers from renowned brands with a century of history. But which of them can be safely bought without fear of falling apart in a month, and which are better to avoid?
The results are based on the number of complaints about new cars in the first 90 days of ownership – considering the average number of malfunctions/defects per 100 cars. And although Chinese cars still have a ‘hospital average’ higher than that of Japanese and European cars, experts note a noticeable improvement in the quality of vehicles produced in China. The most reliable among them are GAC Honda, GAC FCA Jeep, and Changan Ford. As for Chinese brands, the best were Changan, Chery, and Lynk&Co.
