American Nissan Murano Faces Criticism Even Before Its Launch on the Japanese Market

Tuning Atelier Kuhl Racing Prepares a Kit for the Nissan Murano

The Japanese tuning company Kuhl Racing has already begun work on a modification package for the new, fourth-generation Nissan Murano, which is scheduled to arrive on the Japanese market in 2027. The first renders present a low, sporty image of the SUV.

The main elements of the package will be:

Modification Details and Style

Kuhl Racing engineers believe that the increased body width of the new Murano makes it an excellent base for sporty modifications. The suspension will allow lowering the car to the ground clearance level of a standard Nissan GT-R R35. The wheels will be available in two variants: Verz-Wheels VRF01 with seven spokes or two-piece Verz-Wheels KCV04 with ten spokes.

The full aero kit, the development of which has already been confirmed, will include a more aggressive front spoiler, a modified front bumper, extended side skirts, a rear spoiler, and a diffuser.

Technical Features and Market Context

No major changes to the powertrain are planned. The fourth-generation Murano is equipped exclusively with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 241 hp and 352 Nm of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

Interestingly, in Japan, the car will be sold with left-hand drive configuration, despite local norms. The estimated starting price of the Murano in Japan will be around 8 million yen, placing it alongside the Toyota Crown Signia, Mazda CX-80, and Lexus RX.

Tuning Cost and Prospects

The cost of the full upgrade package could be significant. Based on prices for a similar kit for the Toyota Crown Estate, the total amount could reach approximately 2.5 million yen. This sum may include around 776 thousand yen for the aero kit, 850 thousand yen for the suspension, and up to 825 thousand yen for the braking system.

The appearance of ready-made tuning solutions even before the official start of car sales in the country indicates significant interest from enthusiasts and specialized ateliers. This also highlights the trend where international models imported under special agreements quickly find their place in the local modification culture, adapting to local tastes and requirements, even when it concerns an aspect as unusual for the market as a left-hand drive configuration.
