Ram Introduces Three New America250 Special Editions
The Stellantis automotive concern, which is the official partner of the America250 organization dedicated to celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States, has announced a series of special models. Among them are three new Ram 1500 pickups with corresponding styling.
The America250 special editions are based on three models from the 1500 family: Big Horn, Laramie, and Rebel. All of them will be available in three body colors: Molten Red Pearl-Coat, Hydro Blue Pearl-Coat, and Bright White Clear-Coat, symbolizing the national colors.
Features of the Big Horn America250 Version
The base Big Horn America250 version starts from $61,415. Its exterior features glossy black body-colored paint for the bumpers, fender flares, and mirrors, a body-colored grille, as well as matte-black graphics with a US flag on the hood and body sides. The 20-inch wheels are also painted black.
The interior is executed in a red-white-blue color scheme. The seats are upholstered in blue Denim Soul material with contrasting red and white stitching. The front seatbacks feature Velcro patches for badges, similar to those used on military uniforms. Additional details include ruby-red seat belts and special graphics on the digital instrument cluster.
Laramie and Rebel America250 Versions
The Laramie and Rebel America250 models are based on the same concept but have their own differences in trim. The Laramie received a glossy black grille and 22-inch wheels. The Rebel, oriented towards off-road use, has a matte-black grille, 18-inch wheels with off-road tires, as well as black-painted fender flares and a special front bumper with tow hooks.
The interior of these versions is executed in black leather, where blue inserts are visible in the perforation, and there is red-white-blue contrast stitching. The America250 emblem on the dashboard is made of satin chrome.
Choice of Powertrains
The company emphasizes freedom of choice for buyers. The base Big Horn America250 version is offered with three engines: a 3.6-liter V6, a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six Hurricane, or the returned-to-the-lineup 5.7-liter Hemi V8. The Laramie and Rebel models are available only with the Hurricane or Hemi V8 engines, the latter of which develops up to 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.
All three special editions of the Ram 1500 America250 will be released in a limited series. The company has already opened orders for these patriotic pickups.
These models clearly demonstrate the trend of automakers creating limited series timed to significant national events. Such cars often become collectible objects. The presentation of these pickups ahead of the New York Auto Show is part of a larger Stellantis marketing campaign aimed at emphasizing the brand’s connection with American history and culture. The success of such special editions will depend not only on their appearance but also on how much they will be valued as unique artifacts of their time among car enthusiasts.
