According to German sources, Audi could set up production of the Q4 e-tron crossover (or its successor) at the VW plant in Chattanooga. This is a logical step, as the model uses the same MEB platform as the Volkswagen ID.4, which is already being produced at this facility.
Parallel changes in production plans for the Q6 e-tron are being considered. This model was initially planned to be produced in Mexico, but now an option with a plant in Columbia (South Carolina), where Scout models will also be manufactured, is being discussed.
Sources report that the Volkswagen Group is studying another potential site for the production of the Q6 e-tron, but details have not been disclosed yet.
Audi representatives do not confirm specific plans but acknowledge that the American market remains one of the key areas of development, along with Europe and China.
“We aim to strengthen our presence in the US,” stated a brand representative. “We are currently analyzing various scenarios. We are confident that by the end of the year we will be able to make final decisions in coordination with the Group.”
In any case, Audi is actively preparing to expand its positions in the American market, as avoiding customs duties is critically important for the brand.
