Ford Joins Amazon Autos
Automaker Ford has become the latest brand to join the Amazon Autos program. Customers can now purchase certified used Ford cars online. The service will initially launch in Dallas, Seattle, and Los Angeles, with plans to expand to other markets later.
Convenience of Online Shopping
The collaboration allows buyers to browse cars without leaving home. After making a selection, they can order the car online and schedule a time for pickup. The system displays vehicles within a 75-mile radius, provides detailed pricing, and offers online financing options.
Buying a car without an in-person inspection isn’t ideal, but Ford guarantees that all models have undergone a multi-point inspection and come with roadside support. A key advantage is the money-back guarantee within 14 days or 1,000 miles.
Certification Levels
The program includes three certification levels:
Dealer Response
Despite uncertainty about consumer response, dealers support the initiative. Approximately 20 dealers have already joined the program, with another 160-180 expressing interest in collaboration.
This move by Ford demonstrates the growing trend toward digitalization in the automotive market, where convenience and transparency of purchase terms are becoming decisive factors for modern buyers. Expanding the geography and categories of certified vehicles could significantly impact sales dynamics, particularly among younger generations who prefer online shopping.
