Special Bentley Bentayga for the Japanese market
Bentley has introduced in Japan an exclusive version of its Bentayga SUV, created specifically for a female audience. The release is limited to only 10 units. The Mulliner division focused not on obvious femininity, but on refined and sophisticated detailing.
The model is named the Bentley Bentayga Something Blue Collection by Mulliner. The name references a Western wedding tradition, popular in Japan, where for good luck the bride should have “something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue.”
Exterior and interior of the collection
The special Bentayga features “Ice” metallic white paint with blue hues that appear under certain lighting. The car sits on 22-inch silver wheels, and the brake calipers are painted in the body color.
The interior features numerous blue details, including embroidered Bentley logos on the seatbacks and floral motifs on the dashboard. The main interior palette combines “Linen” and “Graphite Grey” leather. These gray elements are present on the steering wheel, upper parts of the door panels, dashboard, and around the center console. Mulliner also added special sill plates with “Something Blue Collection” badges.
Presentation and technical specifications
The premiere of the special Bentayga took place at Ooyane Plaza in Tokyo. The manufacturer confirmed that several planned units have already been reserved.
The car is equipped with a standard 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 engine producing 542 hp and 770 Nm of torque. This allows the Bentayga to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 290 km/h.
The creation of such regional and targeted collections as Something Blue highlights Bentley’s strategy of deep personalization and consideration of local cultural characteristics. This is not just a marketing move, but a demonstration of the Mulliner atelier’s capabilities to meet the most demanding requests, transforming the car into a unique piece of art. Similar projects often become collectible items, retaining their value over time.
