New Electric Bentley Sheds Its Disguise
The future all-electric Bentley crossover, being developed under the codename Urban SUV, has once again been caught by photographers during winter testing. This time, the car has lost most of its camouflage stickers and fake exterior elements, allowing a clear view of the shapes and some details of the production design.
The general body contours were already known from previous spy shots, but now, with the doors and lighting almost unconcealed, the silhouette looks much cleaner and more refined. In particular, the outlines of the production LED headlights have become noticeable, looking more modern than on previous prototypes.
Interior Inspired by Porsche
One of the most interesting pieces of news is the first detailed photo of the interior. The central place on the dashboard is occupied by a large curved OLED panel, very similar to the display in the Porsche Cayenne.
The hardware is pure Volkswagen Group, including the multi-function steering column stalk on the left… But the materials are unmistakably Bentley.
Even in this early prototype, a mix of high-quality leather, polished metal, and rich colors is used. The steering wheel, trimmed in black and red leather with chrome, emphasizes the luxurious character of the future newcomer.
Technical Features and Platform
The car will be built on the Volkswagen PPE (Premium Platform Electric), which is also used by the electric Porsche Cayenne. This explains the similarity in technical solutions and interior.
Bentley’s management has already promised this model an impressive battery capacity and the fastest charging in the brand’s history. According to the company, the SUV will be able to regain 100 miles (160 km) of range in just seven minutes.
Expected Power and Name
The Bentley’s performance is expected to be at least on par with the electric Cayenne, whose power reaches over 1,000 hp in top versions. Most likely, the base Bentley will receive a powertrain with around 604 hp, which Porsche plans to introduce for the Cayenne S EV next year.
The final model name has not yet been announced, but Bentley has registered the trademarks “Mayon” and “Barnato.” The presentation of the production car is scheduled for the end of 2026, with sales starting in 2027. Production will be launched at the factory in Crewe, UK.
The arrival of the first full-fledged electric Bentley SUV will mark an important stage for the brand, traditionally associated with large internal combustion engines. Using the proven PPE platform allows a focus on luxurious execution and a unique driving experience, which remains a key priority for Crewe’s clients. The success of this model could define the development trajectory of the entire company in the era of electromobility, combining traditional luxury with cutting-edge technology.
