Most new supercars avoid manual transmissions, but this $14 million Pagani does not

Unique Pagani Zonda Unica put up for auction

Keeping track of the exact number of unique Pagani Zondas created over the last two decades is nearly impossible, but the trend of their increasing value is undeniable. These cars have appreciated faster than the McLaren F1, and the latest data comes this month in the form of a blue carbon fiber Zonda Unica, with an estimated value between $11.1 and $14.1 million.

Auction details and history of creation

Auction house Broad Arrow Auctions will sell the car during its event at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este next week. It is rare to see one of these specially commissioned Zondas come to market, especially at a public auction. At the end of 2024, a unique Pagani Zonda 760 LM Roadster was sold for over $11 million, and this car likely has even broader appeal.

The unique Zonda Unica was commissioned by the founder of Top Car Design and inspired by one of the three Zonda Tricolore. Its body is covered in blue tinted carbon fiber, complemented by tricolor accents of the Italian flag on the hood, mirrors, roof air intake, and rear wing. Contrasting with these elements are gold accents running along the sides and matching gold wheels.

Technical specifications and mileage

Power comes from the most powerful 7.3-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine from AMG that Pagani uses, producing around 750 hp and 575 lb-ft (780 Nm) of torque. This power is sent to the rear wheels. Adding to the appeal of this particular car is that it is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission.

A supercar like this is supposedly built for driving, yet it has covered only 2,617 km (1,626 miles) since production. While this is unfortunate, it is hard to blame the first owner, as this is a true work of art on wheels, equally suited for an exclusive museum display as for cruises along the French Riviera or the Italian Alps. The next owner will almost certainly continue this tradition, which is the eternal paradox of Pagani.

This car will undoubtedly find its new owner among collectors who value not only technical perfection but also unique design and history. The value of such models as the Zonda Unica continues to rise, making them not only an object of admiration but also a reliable investment. Despite the minimal mileage, this example is a testament to the skill of Pagani’s engineers and their commitment to creating true masterpieces that only gain value over time. The market for unique hypercars shows steady demand, and this Zonda is likely to set a new record for models with a manual transmission.
