BMW M is Preparing an Exclusive ‘Dream Car’ for Collectors

BMW is Preparing a New Limited Edition Model

The BMW M division has confirmed that it is working on a new limited series of cars. The upcoming model may follow the philosophy of the 3.0 CSL with a release of only 50 units. The demand for the Skytop and Speedtop concepts has shown high interest in exclusive BMWs.

Although details have not yet been disclosed, the company has already confirmed that the new model will be part of the “small series” lineup. Sylvia Neubauer, Vice President of Clients, Brand, and Sales for BMW M, stated that the project has been given the green light. It is not yet known whether it will be an internal combustion engine model or an electric vehicle, especially considering the upcoming electric M3.

“We are discussing the details, but we need to find the right moment for implementation. Rest assured, we share the same dreams and passion,” Neubauer noted.

Base for the New Model

The new model will likely be based on an existing platform, as developing from scratch would be too costly. One option could be an analogue of the M4-based 3.0 CSL, which was produced in a limited series of 50 cars at a price of over 750,000 euros per unit.

Neubauer emphasized that the goal is not only to create a collector’s item but also to offer something special for a wider circle of BMW M enthusiasts.

“I believe we need a brand-shaper, a very limited series, a dream car at a higher price for collectors. And then, perhaps, a small series at a reasonable price for more customers,” she added.

BMW continues to experiment with limited series, which allows the company to test new ideas and maintain interest in the brand. The new model is expected to be introduced in the coming years, but exact timelines have not yet been disclosed.
