BMW Tries to Launch a Jet Ski into the Water but Ends Up in the Water Itself

Unexpected Water Incident

The owner of a BMW 7-Series had an unpleasant experience while trying to launch his jet ski into the Vistula River in the city of Włocławek, Poland. Instead of a successful launch, the car unexpectedly started sliding and ended up in the river.

Event Details

The event occurred on Sunday at the OSiR marina on Płocka Street. As reported by the Włocławek Voluntary Rescue Service (WOPR), the driver successfully launched his jet ski, but then the car unexpectedly started moving towards the water.

Person Saved, Equipment Lost

Fortunately, the driver managed to leave the BMW before it finally went underwater. Seven members of the WOPR and divers from the State Fire Service arrived at the scene to provide assistance. Photos from the scene show the rescuers making maximum efforts to pull the car out.

Divers secured tow straps to the wheels, and tow trucks helped pull the black BMW 7-Series along with its trailer out of the water. Although the exact model of the car was not specified, the repair cost is likely to be very high due to water damage to the electronics.

Repeated Incidents

According to authorities, this is not the first case at this location. Last month, the driver of an Opel Astra also lost control of his car at this same marina. The damages in that case were estimated at approximately 30,000 złoty. Fortunately, no one was injured then either.

WOPR reminds drivers of the need to exercise caution when launching watercraft to avoid similar unpleasant situations.

This event is a reminder of the importance of safety on water bodies, especially when using vehicles near water. Modern cars, filled with complex electronics, are particularly vulnerable to moisture damage, making such incidents not only dangerous but also very expensive to repair.
